Tiger Eye

There is nothing more beautiful than a tiger. These are one of my favorite animals, not only to look at but to draw. They are powerful and elegant, sadly there are in danger of going extinct. Here is a little description about the tiger. Tigers are found in the forests of Asia and are subdivided into 6 subspecies. The Amur or Siberian, which is my favorite of all the tigers, sumatran, malayan,North Indochinese, Bengal and South China or amoy. Basically the main reason why they fall into each category is the location that they are found. Of all the large cats, the tiger is the largest species, generally males measuring 8 to 10 feet long, including the 3m long tail. The Siberian tiger is known to grow up to 13 feet long, what a pet that would make, huh. Tigers are solitary animals and are night hunters. The range that they cover overlaps over several ranges of other tigers, which can sometimes get pretty messy if they cross paths. Females gives birth to 2 to 3 cubs and raises them for 2 years. The diet of a tiger includes many animals, including deer, antelopes, wild pigs and cattle. They are lovers not fighters, and prefer to stay out of sight of their enemies, especially humans. Their beauty is its own downfall, because its striped coat is one of the reasons why it is being hunted to extinction. Man eating tigers do exist, but these are usually old or sick tigers that cannot longer hunt and they get what they can. Like i have mentioned before, the tiger is an endangered species and there are many reasons why it is hunted so much. But one of the biggest reason is the loss of their habitat due to deforesting and loss of prey due to humans hunting. There have been efforts to keep the tiger from going extinct. Captive breeding being one of them, the problem with this is space. The value of purity is lost as well, they are bred, produced. Even though it is to help them, that shouldn't be a choice. We have to find the right way to help them, while giving them a natural life. Just in the eyes of a tiger you can see their power and beauty. Its a clear indication of how powerful eyes are. They not only serve us to see, but they are jewels that we carry all our lives. Well hopefully you enjoy this drawing and many more will be coming. Just a note, im looking for anyone that would be interested in writing short original articles on some of the species of animals that i will be drawing. These articles can be a short story or anything of importance from that animal. You will be credited with the writing, with your name/website being posted. Till next time.
