By far the horses have some of the most reflective eyes i have ever seen. When looking at them up close, its like looking into a mirror sphere. In this drawing i tried to capture the background scene, which shows a hill and sky. They are very distinct and you can tell that its a horses eye just by looking at it.
A horses vision vastly differs from ours in that we can see in front of us. Horses do have amazing peripheral vision except for in front of its nose and behind its tail, these two spots being their blind spots.
Unlike humans, horses are not able to focus and relies on lowering or raising its head to look at an object. It does this until the object comes into focus on the retina, allowing them to have a better look at it. Since the horses eyes are on the side of the head, the objects that they see with each each doesn't overlap. This means that the horse is able to see two different images of the same object. So the right eye sees what's going on on the right side and the same with the left.
***Note*** I'm looking for someone who would be interested in providing original articles for each of the drawings that i make. I'm not an expert on all the animals, but im sure that there knowledgeable people out there who may know so much about the animals that i will be drawing. Your name/website will be credited with the article.
